Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle
Kemp’s ridley sea turtles are critically endangered. Each fall a large number of juvenile Kemp’s ridleys in the two to four year age classes get trapped in Cape Cod Bay and are stranded cold-stunned on Cape Cod beaches. More than 90% of cold-stunned sea turtles in Cape Cod are Kemp’s ridleys. For the right thing to do when you find a cold-stunned sea turtle, see First Cold-Stunned Sea Turtle of 2008 Rescued.
