center\"><strong><em>Baby Mute Swan Cygnets Newly Hatched<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">Turtle Journal ventured to Spragues Cove in Marion on Buzzards Bay this morning to check the status of a mute swan nest that we have been following since April 4th.\u00c2\u00a0 See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/?p=5794\" target=\"_blank\">Egg Hunt: Who Needs Bunnies When You Have Swans?<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0for the initial story of this nest and a look at a perfect mute swan egg that one of these babies had occupied.<\/p>\n<p><a center\"><strong><em>Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) Adult on Nest<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As we approached, one of the adults was patiently sitting on the nest.\u00c2\u00a0 Everything seemed as it has been for the last nearly six weeks, except when we got close.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\" justify\">The adult reared up, exposing four perfect baby cygnets, and began hissing in our direction.\u00c2\u00a0 Once the adult realized our cameras were no threat, it calmed a bit and allowed the cygnets to enjoy exposure to the warm mid-60 degree breeze.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mute-swan-cygnets-002-840.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img squirmed around and looked hither and yon under the watchful eye of the adult that stood sentry above them.<\/p>\n<p><a
