the adults patient and providing.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"480\" height=\"360\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/wklZtpA3-iE?version=3&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"480\" height=\"360\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/wklZtpA3-iE?version=3&amp;hl=en_US\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Great Blue Heron Hatchlings<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a period of intense feeding, the chicks settled down for a bit\u00c2\u00a0and the adults spent a few moments grooming.\u00c2\u00a0 But with insistent babies in the nest, nothing lasts for long and the chicks soon were pleading again\u00c2\u00a0for attention.\u00c2\u00a0 While Don acknowledges that his video is a bit shaky due to extreme distance\u00c2\u00a0from the nest and terrible weather conditions,\u00c2\u00a0the clip does\u00c2\u00a0provide a good sense of the chicks&#8217; early days.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/hh-004-960.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10955\" title=\"Sierra Exif JPEG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/hh-004-480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/hh-004-480.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.turtlejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/hh-004-480-300x283.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Adult Great Blue Heron Presents Small Fish to Chicks<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Turtle Journal observed these two nests today, we discovered that the adult would occasionally offer small fish to the chicks by waving it from its beak and then laying it next to the babies in the nest.\u00c2\u00a0 The team will continue to monitor these hatchlings in the days ahead &#8230;
